Our traveling road shows are coming to an end on Friday, January 27, 2012. Please come out to see us at 8 p.m. at Baldwin’s Station Restaurant, 7618 Main Street, Sykesville, MD 21784. Advanced reservations are required and can be made up through the day of the performance: 410-795-1041. Included in the ticket price is a delicious three-course meal with entrée options. Tickets are $55 each, plus tax and tip. We have had a great time putting on classic 1940s radio shows and hope to see you at our last performance!

Auditions will be held at Westminster United Methodist Church, 165 East Main Street, Westminster, MD 21157 (New Life in Christ Room), from 7-9p on Tuesday July 12 and Wednesday July 13. We will be performing the suspense Sorry, Wrong Number followed by the romantic comedy The Shop Around the Corner as 1940s-style radio plays! We will be traveling to various locations in Baltimore and Carroll Counties to perform in fall 2011. Pls google Generic Radio and the play names for script info. We are still reviewing radio manuscripts for the fall 2011 production. However, please be sure to check back here every so often for audition information, which we hope to have posted by the end of June. Spread the word! Current script contenders include Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World and H.G. Wells’ The Time Machine.
That’s right. There will be a fall 2011 show and it will be a traveling show! Our plan for the fall 2011 production is to do a radio manuscript that requires minimal props, set, and costumes. Our hope is to take the show to senior centers, churches, and restaurants (for a small donation). The Carroll Players General Membership meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 19th at the Carroll Arts Center (91 W. Main Street, Westminster, MD). Topics to be discussed include:
1. Vote: By Law change concerning Article 1V Board of Directors: Section 4. Qualifications A Director shall be a voting member of the organization and shall attend the regular meetings of the Board of Directors. In the event that a director shall fail without good and sufficient cause to attend three (3) consecutive meetings or to assume an active role in the organization, said position as director may be declared vacant by a majority of the Board of Directors.
Any and all other statements have been stricken from Article V Section 4.
2. Board Officer elections.
3. Payment of dues: $15 per person, $25 for couples, and $5 for students
4. Possible new venues.
5. Scholarship recipient announcement.
This meeting is open to the public. Those interested in our organization or the theatre are encouraged to attend. Snacks will be provided.
